EMAF Architecture
The LithoTect Earth Modeling Application Framework (EMAF)LithoTect has been designed as an n-D, earth modeling application framework that provides 2D and 3D probabilistic earth models supporting a large and extensible variety of data geometries (points, lines, surfaces, volumes) and arbitrary attributes distributed over these entities. The EMAF system is based on a secure, modern framework for delivering high-end technical applications, data, and services through a volumetric, GIS-based, Collaborative Scientific Computing interface. INTEMAF is written in pure Java and uses J/GeoToolkit components of INT, Inc. The complete suite of J/GeoToolkit functionality has been integral to the success of the highly interactive and graphic-intensive nature of LithoTect (see an overview of this implementation here). INT components, ranging from drawing and editing tools to seismic and well log management, have been blended into the GLS architecture. LithoTect illustrates the ability to efficiently build a complete, sophisticated, user-oriented application interface around the INT graphics toolkits. As more 3D functionality is added, continuing development will be based on the INT J/View3DPro components. Open Architecture
